Giveaways Toys & Games

Have a Happy Hasbro Holiday!

Hasbro has all the toys and games that kids dream about for the holidays! From Nerf Laser Ops Pro laser tag guns to board games, Star Wars to Disney Princesses, so many of our favourite toys come from our friends at Hasbro. Take a look at some of our favourite Hasbro gifts this Christmas and enter to win an interactive Co-Pilot Chewie doll, this year’s coolest Star Wars plush toy!

Star Wars Ultimate Co-Pilot Chewie

Star Wars fans everywhere know and love Chewbacca as Han Solo’s friend and co-pilot on the Millennium Falcon, and now they can bring him home to be their own sidekick too! Ultimate Co-Pilot Chewie is made by FurReal Friends, the experts in bringing robot friends to interactive life.

Chewie makes 100+ sound-and-motion combinations (requires 4 AA batteries), reacting to whatever you do. Try talking to him, moving him around, shaking him, scratching his head, or lying him down. He can sit and stand on his own.

Chewie answers in Wookiee, laughs, roars, and even snores. His eyes and mouth open and close, his head and arms move, and he makes happy sounds when you pat him on the head. If the laughs and surprised guffaws from my husband and me are any indication at all, kids will go crazy for Chewie. I know mine will! (Ages 4+)

Hasbro Party Games

You can’t go wrong with games for Christmas! Party games are a great gift to bring when visiting friends or family over the holidays, and two of our favourite Hasbro party games are Taboo and Catch Phrase. Pull out one of these games once dinner is done. The rules are simple enough that anyone can play, and they’re fun for everyone!

Taboo is the guessing game of forbidden words. The game is played by four or more players in two teams, though more players means more fun!

Team A’s clue-giver tries to get their teammates to say the Guess word written at the top of the card without using any of the forbidden Taboo words. One member of the opposing team (Team B) monitors the clue-giver and calls them out with the electronic buzzer if they say any of the Taboo words. The clue-giver’s team keeps the cards they’ve guessed correctly, and Team B takes the cards that were buzzed or skipped over. Game box includes 400 double-sided cards, electronic buzzer, timer, and instructions. (Ages 13+)

Then there’s Catch Phrase, another word guessing game that plays like a game of hot potato. The electronic game unit (requires 3 AA batteries) contains 5,000 words and phrases in several categories including Fun and Games, Entertainment, Everyday Life, Variety, and The World. Catch Phrase is played by four or more players in two teams, but the game is ideal for even really large groups.

Grab it, guess it, pass it! Teammates try to guess the secret word or phrase as quickly as possible then pass the unit to the other team. Be fast and don’t get caught holding the unit when the buzzer goes off because the other team will score a point. The first team to reach 7 points wins. Box includes includes game unit and instructions. (Ages 12+)

Lock Stars

A few months ago Hasbro sent us samples of their new collectible toys, Lock Stars. Each cute little collectible “lock” comes with two keys, two charms (one hidden in its belly), and a mystery mini lock pal. My kids and their friends all think they’re really cool. They love to collect them and hang them off their backpacks.

This Christmas, Lock Stars come in a Special Collection containing 4 Lock Stars (including a special edition fuzzy Lock Star), 4 mini lock pals, 8 keys, and 8 charm accessories. I’ll be slipping a couple of Lock Stars in the kids’ stockings for sure!
