New Nail Care, Arnica, and Men’s Line from Weleda! #TWCMgifts

When it comes to natural skin care for me and for my kids, I know and trust the Weleda name. I was excited to see that Weleda has recently introduced a nail care line and an Arnica Collection for sore muscles, just in time for the holidays! I’ve also been curious about Weleda’s Men’s Line, so take a peek at what’s we thought, and enter my giveaway at the bottom for your chance to try Weleda’s new nail care pens and a set of classic hand lotions in limited edition holiday packaging.

Nail Care

My nails are not a pretty sight right now. I suspect it has to do with the change in the weather making them dryer than usual, and I’ve been feeling more stressed out recently, but either way, I’ve noticed my nails feel weaker and have been breaking and splitting more lately. So I was very interested to hear that Weleda has just added a Nail Care Line. The new Cuticle Softener Pen and Nail Care Pen both contain pomegranate seed oil which has antioxidant properties, promotes skin renewal, and moisturizes.

Weleda's new Cuticle Softener Pen and Nail Care Pen both contain pomegranate seed oil which has antioxidant properties, promotes skin renewal, and moisturizes.

The Cuticle Softener Pen repairs, softens, and helps gently remove rough, dry cuticles with pomegranate seed oil and sweet almond oil. The tip applicator moisturizes and gently pushes back the excess cuticle without damaging my nails or skin. When it gets worn down, the pen comes with 3 extra tips stored away in the other end.

The Nail Care Pen nourishes and strengthens nails and cuticles with chamomile extract, organic beeswax, shea butter, and antioxidant-rich pomegranate seed oil. I like the no mess brush applicator too. Both formulas are free of synthetic fragrances and preservatives, and I love the fruity scent of the pomegranate seed oil.

After using both pens regularly for two weeks, my nails feel wonderful. I’ve especially noticed a difference in the rough, dry skin along the sides of my nails, and I have less splitting at the edges.

Arnica Collection

Weleda’s Arnica Muscle Relief Collection helps relieve sore muscles naturally with organic arnica extract, wild-crafted and fairly traded in the Carpathian Mountains in Romania. The entire collection is made of natural ingredients and completely free of synthetic preservatives, fragrances, colorants, or raw materials derived from mineral oils.

Arnica collection

The new Arnica Muscle Soak is a bath milk made with only natural ingredients: organic arnica extract, birch extract, and lavender and rosemary essential oils. It’s meant to be added to the bathtub to help tired and sore muscles. While I’m not an athlete by any stretch of the imagination, I still get aches and pains occasionally (I must be getting old!).

The concentrated scent is a little eye watering straight out of the bottle, but when it’s diluted in a bath full of hot water it has a nice clean, herbal smell and it makes a hot bath even more relaxing. Of course, just soaking in a hot bath helps me feel better so it’s a little hard to tell how much is the hot water and how much is the muscle soak, but I do like how it leaves me relaxed and my skin slightly scented.

I also tried the Arnica Intensive Body Recovery cream, formulated with a high percentage (30%) of wild-crafted arnica flower extract. I’ve been spending way too much time on the computer this month, getting all my Gift Guide content done, and my arms are starting to feel it. I’ve been using this cream on my right forearm when it gets sore. The thick cream is non-greasy, and while there is a bit of a medicinal scent, it’s nothing like the other commercial muscle rubs. It feels warm and kind of tingly after I put it on, and about 10-15 minutes later my arm feels noticeably less sore. This one is definitely a keeper!

Men’s Line

And then there’s the men’s line. Weleda focuses mainly on women’s and baby skin care, so it’s nice to see Weleda paying more attention to the guys. Hubby took on the task of trying out the four piece Men’s Facial Care Line and reporting back.

Weleda Men's line

Hubby has sensitive skin that’s prone to razor bumps (the main reason he switched from disposable razors to shaving with a classic safety razor), so he needs a thick, rich shaving cream that gives him a little extra protection.

Weleda’s Shaving Cream is made with natural, soothing ingredients like sweet almond oil, organic pansy extract, and goat’s milk, and hubby likes that it doesn’t have the  chemical scent you often find in commercial shaving creams. The tube is much smaller than a can of shaving cream and less messy than shaving soap, which makes it ideal for traveling, and since you don’t need much at one time the tube should last a while. It’s a bit slow to lather if you’re just using your hands, but hubby has been getting good results using a shaving brush and bowl.

The After Shave Balm is a milky lotion made with aloe and myrrh to soothe and promote healing. Hubby finds it does soothe his face after shaving, and we both like the citrusy, herbal, spicy scent. Actually, I LOVE how this smells and I’ve been known to give him a quick sniff with his good bye kiss in the morning!

After shave balm

Hubby also tried the Smooth Shave Toner with witch hazel and myrrh. It’s meant to be used before and after shaving to prep and tone your face. He’s never used a shave toner in his routine before, and he didn’t see a big difference with this one. Since switching to a safety razor, he rarely gets nicks or razor bumps though, so that may be why he didn’t notice much. Finally, there’s the Men’s Moisture Cream made with organic jojoba seed oil and marshmallow root extract. It has a similar scent to the shave balm, and hubby likes that it’s non-greasy and absorbs quickly into his skin.

Holiday Lotions

Lastly, while these aren’t new products, Weleda has released its classic lotions – Skin Food, Pomegranate Regenerating Hand Cream, Sea Buckthorn Hand Cream, and Evening Primrose Revitalizing Hand Cream – in limited edition cardboard holiday sleeves perfect for gift giving or slipping into stockings.
