Win a Pair of Tickets to Disney’s The Lion King in Vancouver! {Giveaway Closed}

I’ve been kind of stressed out lately. It seems like there’s always something more to do, more items on my to do list, more dishes, more laundry, just… MORE! And don’t even get me started on taxes. (Actually, scratch that. Someone please get me started – there’s only a week left!) But sometimes we just need to set our worries aside for a bit and take a breather. You know, hakuna matata!

I was pretty excited to hear that Broadway’s award-winning Best Musical The Lion King is on its way back to Vancouver this summer! Taking an evening off from all my daily worries to enjoy this award-winning musical is just what I need. Who can resist the familiar songs and rhythmic music, the fantastical costumes, the epic story?

I’m excited about welcoming Simba, Mufasa, Rafiki, the hyenas, and even Scar back. And why yes, I do have a soft spot in my heart for Timon and Pumbaa, those carefree besties who remind all of us to hakuna matata, at least once in a while.

Did you know The Lion King has played in 19 countries on every continent except Antarctica? Here’s a little taste of why this remains one of the most popular stage musicals in the world, even into its 18th year.

Disney’s The Lion King will be playing at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Downtown Vancouver from June 18 through to July 12, 2015. Ticket prices start at just $35. Buy your tickets at Ticketmaster or by calling 1-855-985-5000.

  • I like to go to the pool and have a swim and a hot tub. The excercise reduces stress and makes me feel better and the hot tub feels like a luxury and while I am there I forget all about my worried

  • I like to go for a run and then take a long shower afterwards. Exercise helps me clear mind of everything else and focus on what I’m doing at the moment.

  • I usually like to just curl up in bed with a good book and my cozy blanket when I’m stressed. When I’m stressed, I like to escape to another world and books allows me to do just that.

  • Lots of self care! I’ve learned to say no to requests to try not to get too stressed. When I do get overwhelmed, I like to go for a nice long walk by myself in the park.

  • I like to head out on our beautiful north shore trails and into nature to relieve stress and get away from it all. Something about our big and beautiful backyard seems to put everything in perspective.

  • I like to grab a book and a glass of red wine to decompress. I also enjoy taking some time to go for a fast walk if the weather is nice.

  • To manage stress and put my worries aside I spend time with my daughter. I also meditate and do breathing exercises. I use essential oils, epsom salts, candles and crystals to relax. Exercising and fresh air are great stress relievers as well.

  • I like to find a couple of minutes and meditate. Sometimes it is just 5 minutes in a quiet corner and sometimes I get a full half hour with some essential oils and much needed peace and quiet.

  • I like to exercise – either go for a run by myself, without any music, just my own thoughts, or I like to play volleyball with my team and hit out my frustrations on the ball and then feel refreshed after. I grew up playing sports, so they are still my outlet.

  • Usually a glass of wine helps when I’m stressed! But if that isn’t an option, any type of exercise helps for sure, whether its going for a run on the treadmill or playing outside with my kids, exercise definitely helps!

  • When I’m stressed I take a moment and close my eyes breathe deeply and spritz lavender spray on my face..aaahhh.

  • When I feel stressed and/or worried I find getting outside helps. It’s better if I can get back to nature, go to a park, green space or beach. I think the change in air and just being oxygenated helps a lot.

  • I usually try to tackle whatever is making me stressed – e.g., get the dishes done, write the blog post. If I can’t do that, I’ll call a friend or read a book and just deliberately put it out of my mind to deal with later. 🙂 Thanks for the giveaway!

  • My best stress release is to get outside on my bike and ride fast along the dike in Richmond. Slowly my mind clears and by the time I get home I feel relaxed and ready to face the world again.

  • I like to get lost in a good book, head to the spa, or dance my troubles away when I am stressed. A change of scenery can help too, as can just cranking up the tunes and singing my heart out at the top of my lungs.

  • I set out the things I need to do and tackle them one at a time, it makes me feel better to be able to get things done and than I can use that time to do what I want and I love to garden.

  • I generally deal with stress and worry by using distraction. I have come to realize that when I find myself exceptionally busy, I have a look inside to check what is going on with me emotionally.

  • I knit and read and steep myself in great TV series on Netflix … I love bubblebaths, and going for a good hike if I have time 🙂

  • Love to go exploring next to the trees, ocean or mountain with no destination and no time limit. 🙂 In B.C.
we have the elements quite accessible so it’s a good stress ease. Sometimes I have a Chinese
Accupressurist come to my house. This is the best for stress release!

  • I write down what I think is stressing me out, and then break it down, and figure out ‘can I change what’s happening?’, if they answer is no, I don’t stress anymore. And if I can give the challenge away, I will too!

  • I grab my book, a glass of wine and head for a bath. Sometimes i add in Lavender essential oils.
