Every page introduces a new dinosaur with a little information about each in rhyme. Should Kay get a Tyrannosaurus Rex or Ankylosaurus? But Tyrannosaurus Rex is too scary and Ankylosaurus is too slow. How about a Triceratops, Brachiosaurus, Velociraptor, or Plesiosaur? None of these seem right, so which pet will Kay choose in the end?
An additional page in the back has more fun facts about the different creatures seen in the book. I love that this isn’t just a story, it’s also a scientifically accurate and educational introduction to several popular dinosaurs and prehistoric species (the book is careful to point out that Pterodactyls and Plesiosaurs are not dinosaurs).
Kids will love poring over each page searching for their name spelled out on a soccer jersey, in leaves, on a double-decker bus, or even in Pterodactyl poop! Not to worry, this high-quality hardcover has thick, sturdy pages that will withstand reading over and over again.
