Snack on the Go with Summer Fresh Hummus #FreshSnacks

With two busy kids always on the go, I’m always on the go too! But that doesn’t mean I’m okay with junk food or unhealthy snacks for my kids. I usually grab a piece of fruit or cheese when they want a snack, but I’m always looking for other healthy options. I was recently sent some Summer Fresh Snack’n Go kits and Hummus Minis to see if they measured up.

We often eat hummus with veggie sticks for dinner, but I’d never really thought of sending some to school for snack. I’ll be honest, mornings are really not my best time, but these Snack’n Go kits make it easy for me, especially when I’m already frazzled and running late. Each Snack’n Go kit includes a serving of hummus paired with seven crisp flatbread crackers perfect for dipping (and sharing!), all in an easy to grab package. I can just throw it into Tee’s backpack and snack is taken care of!

But it’s only a success if your kids eat it, right? Well, Tee thinks they’re yummy, and she especially likes sharing them with her classmates. Kids love dipping!

We also tried Summer Fresh Hummus Minis. These single serving sizes come four to a package and are simple to pack with lunch. Hubs likes to take one to work with some veggie sticks, and I like snacking on them too. They’re a good single serving size, and because the other containers stay sealed, they stay fresh longer.

While hubs can’t eat the flatbread that comes with the snack kits, the hummus itself is gluten-free and dairy-free so it’s allergy-friendly. And it tastes good! Both come in original, roasted garlic, and roasted red pepper flavours. I wasn’t able to find the red roasted pepper near me, but my family and I enjoyed both the original and roasted garlic flavours. Personally, I love anything garlic, so that was my favourite.

I’m pretty happy about discovering another snacking option that isn’t full of sugar and encourages my kids to eat their veggies. ‘Cause remember, kids love to dip!
