I have yogurt-crazy kids. Well, I do now. Tee’s been eating Greek yogurt for breakfast since she was knee high to a grasshopper, but Kay was a little different. When she was a toddler, we noticed she got red, rashy cheeks whenever she ate dairy. Allergy testing confirmed a dairy allergy, so for the last couple of years we’ve steered clear of milk, cheese, and yogurt for her. Knowing that kids often outgrow childhood allergies though, we recently re-introduced dairy, and I was so happy to see she can eat it now with no reaction! She’s been making up for lost time it seems, asking for, “Yogurt and berries! Yogurt and berries!” almost every day.
Here in BC, we’re lucky enough to have Canada’s leading organic dairy right in our backyard. Olympic Dairy farm-fresh products and yogurts are locally made in Delta, BC from 100% natural ingredients. We’ve enjoyed all their products for years, especially their plain Organic Probiotic Yogurt and Krema Greek Style Thick and Rich Yogurt. These have been favourites in our house since Tee started eating solids because they’re high in protein and fat for growing brains and bodies, but don’t have any added sugar. We like Krema yogurt so much we buy it in these huge 1.75 kg tubs! (Don’t worry, it comes in a more reasonably sized 500g container too.)
I love how versatile yogurt is. We eat tons of it with fruit or homemade grain-free granola, but it’s great for cooking too! Yogurt can be used in lots of recipes in place of butter, cream, or fat to add moisture and protein without those extra calories. You can substitute yogurt pretty much wherever you’d use sour cream, mayonnaise, or heavy cream. Yogurt is also an easy, high protein base for tasty dips and sauces. Like this Creamy Avocado Yogurt Dip! Olympic Organic Probiotic Yogurt makes it light, fresh, and delicious!
This delicious dip is simply an avocado, Olympic Organic Probiotic plain yogurt, lime juice, and a touch of garlic powder and chili powder in the blender. So easy, right? Everybody loves this with veggies at dinner, and I never have leftovers when I serve this with pita chips or tortilla chips at a family get together.

You might have heard of kefir before, but if you’re like me, you may not have known what it is. Kefir is a probiotic, fermented milk. Organic and low-fat (1% M.F.) Olympic Vanilla Kefir is a great choice for a healthy digestive flora and contains 10 different bacterial cultures and 2 billion probiotics per cup.
You can use kefir just like you would milk – with cookies, in smoothies, or in baking – but we like drinking it as is. The vanilla flavour does contain some sugar so it’s a yummy treat for my girls. They’d drink the entire jug if I let them. It’s sweet and creamy with the tang of yogurt, and it’s good for you!

A 1.75 kg tub, that would take forever for me to eat! Yes, I’ve heard of kefir and know it’s healthy but didn’t realise it’s that healthy. 🙂
I love dipping with guacamole, so I’m sure I would really enjoy this too!
I just recently tried guacamole and i love it,we drink kefir all the time.Cant wait to try your recipe !
I’d heard of Kefir, and knew it was some type of dairy beverage, but didn’t know beyond that.
I love Greek style yogurt and never heard of Kefir either
My girls were not big on many protein sources as infants but they sure loved kefir! They still do.
I’ll pass on the kefir, but I’ve seen the giant tubs of Olympic Yogurt in the store. We use the 500 size. It’ not as economical, but it saves space in the fridge.
I’m definitely making this for my Family at our next bbq. I may even try it with my cheeseburger ?
That sounds amazing! I’ll bet the avocado gives the dip such an amazing creaminess.
I’ve never heard of Kefir before but it sounds yummy and that Creamy Avocado Dip looks so good. I’ll be pinning this for later.
I love yougart and I am so happy that Kay is now able to enjoy this delicious, nutritious and healthy treat. I have a daughter who is lactose intolerant. I have recently yougart that she can enjoy. I would really miss yougart if I could not buy it. It’s on my shopping list every week.
