When my oldest, Brooks, was a baby and still on a predominantly liquid diet, I remember feeling sorry for all the poor souls who couldn’t find a good night time diaper for their heavy wetting youngsters. When doing research on which kinds of diapers to invest in, I’d scroll past a lot of the information about absorbency because we never seemed to have a problem with that.
Well, times have changed. And with my new little lady who loves to snack all night long, I had officially joined the club of parents who are fed up with leaky dipes.
It wasn’t long, however, until I discovered the perfect solution for us—the Dimple Diaper by Bummis. It’s a one-size fitted diaper with an extra, double-sided booster that can be taken out, making it a versatile choice for day or night.
Anatomy of a Bummis Dimple Diaper
The Dimple Diaper has three rise settings, five waist snaps on either side, and crossover snaps. It’s made of organic cotton that has the Bummis waffle “dimples” all over it, and you can feel the extra layers sewn into the core for added absorbency.
The Dimple Diaper is designed to fit from 10 to 30+ pounds so you can most likely expect it to fit until potty training.
Each diaper comes complete with a booster for added absorbency. One side of the booster is also organic cotton, but flip it over and you have a stay-dry polyester option as well. This is great for both babies that need a wicking layer and for those that cannot have synthetic fabrics against their skin. A win-win!
Diaper rash has been the bane of my existence for the last two and a half years, and I learned with Brooks that a wicking layer against his sensitive skin works wonders. With many of our other diapers I have to fold in an extra fleece liner for this purpose, so I’m glad I can skip this step with the Dimple Diaper. I just make sure the booster is flipped to the Stay-Dry side.
Here’s a close up of those famous dimples!
Fit and Performance
We’ve been using our Dimple Diaper as often as possible for the last few weeks, and it hasn’t failed us yet. At 8 months old and 18 pounds, the medium settings fit Riley snugly, and we’ve got plenty of room to grow. Even with the booster insert, this diaper doesn’t feel very bulky, and our standard covers have no problem fitting over it.
It’s pretty trim, but it has all the benefits of a fitted diaper—easy to use (no Snappis, folding, or stuffing), and the entire thing works all night long to absorb your precious bundle’s pee.
The one small drawback to all that absorbency is a longer than usual dry time. But I just take it out along with all my other diaper laundry and lay it out separately for a few hours to complete drying rather than run the dryer again for a single diaper.
Final Thoughts
One of my favorite things about Bummis is their commitment to economic and environmental sustainability. All their fabrics are sourced in North America and their products are designed and created in Canada. You guys know I’m passionate about investing in companies with high standards of care for their employees and the environment, and Bummis is a brand I consistently recommend to all the cloth families I know.
Guys, this is it! The best of both worlds when it comes to absorbency and simplicity, and one-size means you can count on it to fit your little one through to potty training. The Bummis Dimple Diaper is one to invest in for your stash.

I would love to try the dimple diaper, as well as the mama cloth.
I’d love to try their AIO. I’ve heard great things about it.
They make The Best Ever Sleeved Bib. Bibs with sleeves are genius.
I love fitted diapers, but have not tried the Bummis dimple diaper yet. I love that it is OS & that you don’t have to use a Snappi! I’ll be on the lookout for them.
I’m a big fan of fitted diapers for early morning floods, naps, & overnight. I haven’t tried the Bummis fitted yet because I assumed that cotton alone would not be absorbent enough for a heavy wetter. Since my LO is a big boy, my only concern would be that it is only listed as up to 30 pounds and not 35.
