West Coast living to me means healthy living. Did you know British Columbians have the highest life expectancy of any province or state in North America? We tend to be health-conscious around here, and we like to take advantage of our mild weather year round to stay active. We try to eat healthy too, but we also believe in enjoying good things in moderation.
There’s a reason BC’s tagline is, “Super, Natural British Columbia.” Where else can you play in the ocean, walk through an old growth rain forest, and hike in the mountains, all in one day? We’re all about good nature and the good people who live here.
And then there’s the food! We have amazing local produce here: Okanagan fruit, local farms, and Canadaβs leading organic dairy right in our backyard. Olympic‘s farm-fresh products and yogurts are locally made in Delta, BC from 100% natural ingredients and fresh milk from local cows, without gelatins, gluten, or preservatives. Weβve enjoyed all their products for years, especially their Krema Greek Style Thick and Rich Yogurt. Greek style yogurt is our choice because it’s high in protein and healthy fats for my girls’ growing brains and bodies without any added (and unneccessary) sugar.
Remember those mountains I mentioned? You can even see them on the new Olympic logo and packaging. Don’t worry, Olympic’s delicious BC goodness hasn’t changed, just the packaging, so keep an eye out for their new look next time you’re in store to pick up your favourite Olympic yogurt!
My girls love Olympic Krema Greek-style Thick & Rich Yogurt for breakfast. Topped with fresh fruit, it’s a quick and easy high protein breakfast. But Krema is a great choice in desserts too (or anything really!) for its thick, creamy texture and full flavour. I love using unsweetened Greek style yogurt in my recipes for its protein and tangy flavour without added sugar.
During our recent mini heat wave, I created these little frozen treats inspired by one of my favourite desserts: strawberry cheesecake. Featuring the same flavours but made with just a few simple ingredients and without all the sugar or calories, you can feel comfortable feeding these two-bite treats to your family as often as you’d like.
These are easy to make as long as you follow a few steps and have some patience. Start by washing and drying your strawberries. Make sure they’re completely dry before dipping each one in a mixture of Olympic Krema Greek-style Thick & Rich Plain yogurt flavoured with a touch of vanilla extract, using the strawberry leaves as a “handle”. Yes, expect to drop at least one, though hopefully you’re less of a klutz than me and you can catch it before it hits the floor and splatters yogurt everywhere.
Carefully place each dipped strawberry, leaf side down, pointy end up, on a sheet of parchment paper on a cookie sheet. For a thin layer of yogurt, once is enough, but to get a thicker coating, pop them in the freezer for about an hour, then come back and do a second coat of yogurt.
Sprinkle graham cracker crumb and cinnamon topping on the upside down strawberries then carefully carry the sheet to your freezer. I use gluten-free graham cracker crumbs, but any kind will work.
Pro tip: Prepare a flat, secure spot in your freezer before you bring the strawberries over to the freezer.
These delicious frozen treats are just the thing to cool off on a hot day or as a tangy and refreshing dessert after dinner. Mmm!

This is such a simple dessert!
I much prefer a thick yoghurt rather than a thin runny one – skyr is the type I like most so far but then I’ve not tried Kerma yet.
