  • She sure is a cutie in her suit, this is a wonderful sport to be involved in.My granddaughter is 4 and she just started in Sept.

    • My 4 year old just started in September and so far really really likes it! Especially when we sprang for the gi. Now she’s a “real” karate student I guess, and her last class she was totally focused on the teacher, no fidgeting, etc. (I think she needs to wear the magic gi at home too!)

  • My little one was four when she started. She went in that day on a Saturday to inquire about karate and she was wearing my eye shadow all over her lids because you know – four, right? Anyways the sensei said come on in right now and see how you like it. We are just there to get information really. But that moment forward my DD never looked back. She loves it. She became a junior black belt at 8 and now she is a mentor to the little kids and she still attends mostly happily and she competes and she once told the sensei there that karate gave her tools to help manage the energy and the anger she sometimes had. She breaks boards with her hands and she has grown so much with the help of karate. I love everything that this gives to girls.

    • I loved reading your story! I’m hoping that karate can do something similar for my high-energy, spirited four year old. There are only 2 girls in her class, but I don’t think that will stop her.

  • What a proud little girl. I’m glad she’s enjoying it so much and hope it continues to give her pleasure for years to come. She looks good in her suit too 🙂

  • I think karate is a great sport for girls to know! Not only is it exercise but it gives them the sense of freedom knowing they can take care of themself
