Win a Movie Pass to See Cinderella in Toronto {with “Frozen Fever” Short Film} #CinderellaMoment {Giveaway Closed}

I’m so excited about Disney’s newest film, Cinderella, opening on March 13, 2015. Not only for the movie itself, but also for the new Frozen short, “Frozen Fever” that will be released exclusively with Cinderella!

Cinderella

The story of “Cinderella” follows the fortunes of young Ella (Lily James) whose merchant father remarries following the death of her mother. Eager to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new Stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and her daughters Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drisella (Sophie McShera) into the family home. But, when Ella’s father unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family.

Soon, she is forced to become their servant, disrespected, covered in ashes and spitefully renamed Cinderella. Yet, despite the cruelty inflicted upon her, Ella will not give in to despair nor despise those who mistreat her, and she continues to remain positive, determined to honour her mother’s dying words and to “have courage and be kind.”

When Ella meets a dashing stranger in the woods, unaware that he is really the Prince (Richard Madden) and not merely Kit, an apprentice at the palace, she believes she has finally found a kindred soul. It appears her fortunes may be about to change when the King (Derek Jacobi) summons all maidens in the kingdom to attend a royal ball at the palace, raising Ella’s hopes of once again encountering the charming Kit. Alas, her Stepmother forbids her to attend and callously destroys her dress.

Meanwhile, the calculating Grand Duke (Stellan Skarsgård) devises a plan to thwart the Prince’s hopes of reuniting with Ella and enlists the support of the devious Stepmother. But, as in all good fairy tales, help is at hand. Soon, a kindly beggar woman (Helena Bonham Carter) steps forward and, armed with a pumpkin, a few mice and a magic wand, changes Cinderella’s life forever.

A live-action feature inspired by the classic fairy tale, “Cinderella” brings to life the timeless images from Disney’s 1950 animated masterpiece as fully-realized characters in a visually-dazzling spectacle for a whole new generation.

I’m also really looking forward to seeing the new Frozen short film, “Frozen Fever”, while we’re there!

Frozen Fever

“It’s Anna’s birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but when Elsa catches a cold, her powers may put more than just the party at risk.”

  • My #CinderellaMoment was a few years ago. After my work Christmas party, I got into a cab to go home and I found a lost Blackberry in the cab. I decided to be a Good Samaritan and take it home with me so I could return it to its rightful owner. I contacted some of the owner’s friends via BBM that night, heard back from him the next morning, and arranged to meet with him later that day at the mall, as I had some errands to run. We met that afternoon and as I returned the phone to him, it was clear that there was an undeniable spark between us that couldn’t be resisted. From there, we walked and talked while I shopped for groceries, and he was sure to keep me smiling and laughing the entire time. After I checked out at the cashier, he carried my bags to my car like a true gentleman, and asked me out for coffee. Three days later, we had our first official date, and it has now been three years. He makes me feel like a princess every single day!

  • My #CinderellaMoment was 1 year ago when my secondary school best friend reapear in my life after 20 years, it was really amazing, after 3 months to being talking we get in love and he came to Canada to be with me, it was everything full of wonderful feelings, because he lived in Mexico and now he is with me in Toronto and we are going to get married en some weeks! Love just made possible the impossible! He just make me feel every day like a real princess! Like in a fairy tale! ☺️

  • I could use some help getting to the ball, er, screening of Cinderella in TO (where I’ve heard rumours Lily James will be in attendace!) That would truly be an evening fit for a Princess! #CinderellaMoment

  • My sister & I went shopping for any outfit for a Christmas Party. It was gold – something I thought I’d never wear & I felt just like Cinderella that night. #CinderellaMoment

  • My #cinderellamoment… I don’t talk about this much, but I always related to Cinderella. Like her I lost both my parents, and all through childhood I felt like I didn’t fit in, I also felt alone at home (raised by my old fashion grandparents) sometimes I saw my friends with their parents, and talk about their experiences with their mom and dad, and I felt left out.

    I grew up, and when I graduated high school I left home and traveled the world for a few year. I came back and now I’m almost done university. I married a man, and with him In feel like I have a best friend that I never had before.

    I didn’t have a ball to attend, but my ball was life that was waiting for me….I feel like my hard beginnings made me who I am and now I’m living life to the fullest. That’s what Cinderella is about anyways.
