As a Canadian mom of two little ones, I’m always on the lookout for businesses that offer unique baby items in Canada. As much as we love our American neighbours, I’m sure we’ve all run into the frustration of being charged an arm and a leg for shipping from the US, and that’s if they’ll even ship to Canada. You pay a premium over the currency exchange, shipping takes weeks and weeks, and then you get a bill for additional taxes and duties at Customs. That (almost) takes all of the fun out of shopping! That’s why I was so excited to discover Rose ou Bleu (that means Pink or Blue if you’ve forgotten all your high school French), a modern Canadian baby boutique based in Montreal.

Rose ou Bleu has a spacious brick and mortar store in Montreal, but if you’re not close enough to go shopping in person, you’re in luck because they offer full service online shopping as well. No duties or unexpected charges, and they offer FREE delivery in Canada on orders over $150 before taxes.

Rose ou Bleu carries an impressive selection of items for the nursery and for playtime, and the friendly folks there are always happy to help with practical information and advice so you can find the right product to meet your needs. They also offer an online baby registry so expectant moms can easily let friends and family know just what they need.

I love the unique products carried at Rose ou Bleu. Sometimes it seems like every baby item and shower gift comes from the same big box store. Wouldn’t you like something original, stylish, and boutique quality instead? Those striped slipper socks would be perfect to keep baby ankles warm while riding in a carrier, don’t you think?

Rose ou Bleu also imports gorgeous baby products from France. They carry brands like Kaloo, a French company that specializes in adorable plush toys. Their soft musical mobile comes in grey/white, pink, blue, or denim and would make a perfect baby shower gift.

And check out Janod, another French brand, that makes classic baby and toddler toys built to last through multiple children. I love wooden toys for their durability, safety, and just plain good looks. I think I’m in love with that owl clock. The reverse side is a chalkboard so your little one can draw the hands on herself!
