Two weeks down, 37 to go! Tee is now in Year 1 of her Intermediate Montessori class (Grade One), and Kay started full-time preschool last week. I know we’re only a couple of weeks in to the school year, but I’m so excited by how much the girls are enjoying school.
Kay’s first day went off without a hitch. Her teachers even made a point of telling me they were surprised by how easily she adjusted to school. As you would expect, there were quite a few crying kids on that first day, but not my big girl! She cheerfully waved goodbye and took off for the swings.
Tee and her classmates have been learning about the Big Bang and laying the foundation for studying the origins of the universe. Heady stuff for a 6-year-old! She loves taking the bus to and from school each day, and she’s so happy to have her two best friends from last year with her.
For the first time, both kids are taking lunches to school. I want them to finish and enjoy their lunches, so I like to send a little treat now and then. And I think a successful start deserves a treat! On Friday I sent along a few Mott’s Fruitsations +Veggie fruit flavoured snacks as a surprise in their lunchboxes. These snacks are made from pear, apple, and carrot juices from concentrate and strawberry puree, and free of artificial flavours and colours.
Our school does litterless lunches so I take the gummies out of the pack for school. But otherwise, I find them really convenient to take with us for a treat on the go, and the serving size is just right for my girls.
I asked them what they thought of their Mott’s fruit flavoured snacks, and they said, “Yum!” and, “Thank you, Mommy!” Of course they enjoyed these tasty snacks, but sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words.
“They’re all gone, Mommy.”
