Rainy Days are Brighter with Kidorable Rain Gear

Tee Turns Five

Out here, the West Coast is sometimes known as the Wet Coast, and for very good reason. While the rest of the country shivered under a blanket of snow this winter, we splashed under grey rainy skies for six months. In this climate, a good quality rain coat and boots are not optional. But when you live in rain gear like we do here, it should be fun. When everything else is grey and gloomy, make it bright! And that’s exactly what Kidorable does. They sent us a set of rain gear guaranteed to make a brand new five-year-old smile, no matter the weather!

The ladybug rain gear ensemble we received came with a matching raincoat, umbrella, and pair of rain boots. The adorable raincoat is lined with pink nylon and has two large pockets on the front, one decorated like a little ladybug complete with eyes and antennae.

As Tee’s just turned five, we got the size 5/6 raincoat, and you can see there’s plenty of room to grow into. The sleeves are too long for her right now, but they’re easily rolled up. Now that it’s spring, a shirt and light sweater under the raincoat do just fine to keep her warm and dry, but the coat is more than roomy enough to add a big winter sweater under there when the weather’s colder.

One of the most frustrating things about her last raincoat was the hood. It just wouldn’t stay on! Any gust of wind, or even just walking, would make it slide right off, and that meant wet hair. But our Kidorable raincoat’s hood is elasticized along the top so it stays on, even in the wind. Both Tee and I love this practical detail.

And then there’s the matching rubber rain boots. They have eyes and antennae! ‘Nuff said.

Tee’s tried to use standard size umbrellas in the past, and they’re just too big and unwieldy for her. She can barely hold them over her head, and every time the wind gusts I worry she’ll pull a Mary Poppins on me! But this Kidorable ladybug umbrella is the perfect size for her. She can open and close it on her own, and it has a little ladybug-shaped handle and cute ladybug eyes on top. It also makes a great portable hiding spot!
