With three locations in Vancouver and one in downtown Victoria, Kaboodles Toy Store has been the Neighbourhood Toy Store since 1980. From traditional classics to the downright zany, each toy, game, and puzzle is carefully selected based on quality, play value, and “fun-quotient.” Awesome personal service and their whimsical atmosphere make Kaboodles a fun and welcoming place for kids and adults alike!
With the help of our friends at Kaboodles Toy Store, we’ve curated a selection of the most popular gift ideas and stocking stuffers this holiday season, all available in-store at any of Kaboodles’ locations. We’ve also got a gift card to pass along to one of you for your holiday shopping!
Creativity for Kids Sequin Pets
Flip sequins are so popular right now, and Kaboodles has them! They’re fun and sparkly, and kids love the feel of them. Sequin Pets have a comforting weighted body, velvety soft plush, and flip sequin fabric that promotes sensory and tactile play. Happy the Hedgehog and Sparkles the Unicorn come with an assortment of fun, reusable felt stickers that kids can use to decorate their Sequin Pets. (Ages 5+)
Tegu Magnetic Building Blocks
Tegu blocks are handcrafted hardwood blocks with magnets hidden safely inside, opening up a whole new avenue of creative play. Kids can build them up and out to create all sorts of structures, limited only by their imaginations.
Since each magnet has a positive north pole and negative south pole, kids can experiment with both attraction and repulsion forces. Check out some of the fantastical animals we built with our Tegu blocks. Kids love these open-ended toys and so do adults! (Ages 3+)
Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts Great Hall
Kaboodles carries the full range of LEGO lines including Duplo, LEGO Juniors, LEGO Creator, LEGO Mindstorms, and LEGO Technic, as well as all the popular themes like Harry Potter, Star Wars, Ninjago, Chima, Friends, City, Super Heroes, and more.
I was so excited to see the new LEGO Harry Potter sets this year! I’ve already picked up the Great Hall set, and I’m looking forward to working on this project as a family on Christmas morning.
This 878-piece set builds a detailed, four-level replica of the Hogwarts Great Hall with a fireplace, benches, tables, and reversible house banners, plus the Grand Staircase tower with a spiral staircase, potions room, treasure room, sorting hat, Mirror of Erised, and lots of magical artifact accessory elements. Set includes ten minifigs, buildable Basilisk and Fawkes creatures, plus Hedwig and Scabbers figures. (Ages 9+)
STEAM Powered Crystal Growing Kit
Kaboodles has a wide range of STEM and science kits for all ages. Encourage a love for science and chemistry with this hands-on crystal growing experiment. Simple step-by-step instructions teach your child how to grow beautiful crystals, as well as providing some background science about why it works.
The box comes with enough supplies to make 5 crystals in your child’s choice of colours and sizes, as well as a faceted display case and decorative gravel so they can design and display their own stunning crystal garden. Kids will need to wait around 7 days for the crystals to grow, so patience is required. (Ages 10+)
Unstable Unicorns Game
Kaboodles Toy Store stocks all the classic board games from Hasbro, Orchard Toys, Ravensburger, ThinkFun, Gamewright, Eeboo, and more, as well as a plethora of fun, modern games like Unstable Unicorns.
Unstable Unicorns is a strategic card game about everyone’s two favourite things: destruction and unicorns. Designed for 2-8 players ages 14+ who are a little unstable and have mild violent tendencies.
The rules are simple, but winning is harder than it looks. Start your turn by drawing a card, then play a card from your hand. But be warned. If you get ahead too quickly, you’ll become everyone’s target. The first person to build an army of 7 unicorns wins. (Ages 14+)
Stocking Stuffers
When it comes to stockings, I always add basics like a small notebook, pencils, erasers, mittens, a little candy, and of course the traditional orange in the toe. But once the basics are covered, sometimes I feel like it’s actually harder to find just the right stocking stuffers for the kids.
Here are some of the best ideas coming out of Kaboodles this Christmas. For best results, browse their huge selection in store and the helpful staff will help you find the perfect stocking stuffers, but here are a few ideas to get you started.
TY Flippables – Didn’t we tell you that flip sequins are in? TY’s new 6″ Flippables are the perfect size to add to the kids’ stockings this year. Be sure to arrange them so their little heads are sticking out the top.
Crazy Aaron’s Thinking Putty – Each metal tin is hand packed with 1/5 lb of sensory fun. Different types of Thinking Putty have different properties. Some change colour with the warmth of your hand, others are magnetic or glow in the dark.
BCmini Squishies – BCmini slow rise super soft squishies come in a variety of adorable characters and are so satisfying for kids to squish!
Building Blocks Tape – This flexible, silicone “tape” is compatible with LEGO building blocks and lets you build up walls, around curves, and anywhere you want! Each pack contains 3 feet of tape, and you can easily cut it to your desired length.
Grown Up Gifts
We didn’t want to leave the grown-ups out, so we have a couple more suggestions for the adults in the room.
Bob Ross Everything – Laid-back Bob Ross is everyone’s favourite painter and TV art instructor! Kaboodles has all sorts of retro Bob Ross-themed gifts in-store, like Bob Ross soap, Bob Ross socks, and a Bob Ross Chia Head. These are perfect for anyone on your list who has ever aspired to become a landscape artist or who just appreciates a good head of hair (and happy little trees).
Novelty Socks – Don’t let your loved ones settle for ugly, boring socks! Kaboodles has a great selection of fun, crazy, and colourful socks to suit anyone on your list.
Kaboodles Toy Drive
For the 5th year in a row, Kaboodles is a proud community partner supporting the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau with an in-store toy drive! When you purchase a toy for the Kaboodles Toy Drive, you’ll get 10% off.

The kids will just love HAPPY THE HEDGEHOG. Thanks.
Would you believe I’ve never been in to Kaboodles even though we have a store only about 10 minutes from my house? I want to visit this weekend and see what they have for stocking stuffers. I think my son would love some Thinking putty or a Lego Juniors set!
Oh my $100, I would definitely consider getting a Folkmanis Puppet – they are incredible!
I would love to pick up Hungry Hungry Hippos and some other board games for my little one. She’s just started really getting into family games and it would be great to have some new games around for the holidays!
I would love to pick up one of the globes they have.
Some Green Toys trucks or the ferry boat for the bath!
love to get the .. finger puppet theatre
We have outgrown Catan Junior so we would love to get the “regular” version.
I would get a 4m craft kit like Paint Your Own Piggy Bank.
Other toys I’d pick are the brio little builder and the Lego tape.
So many great toys. I would pick Hape learning blocks for my toddler
I would pick up an Etch-a-Sketch.
The Bruder Crane. It looks like a lot of fun.
I would choose the Happy Hedgehog for my niece!
I would love to put it towards a solar robot for my oldest grandson!
My little niece absolutely loves crafts and she is now learning about “science” stuff as she puts it. She would really like the 4M Steam Powered Girls Crystal Garden kit. Thanks for the chance!!
I think my goddaughter would like “HAPPY THE HEDGEHOG.”
I would pick up some hape kitchen toys to make my daughters play kitchen complete if I won the gift card.
I think I would let my son pick out a new game!
If I won this gift card, I’d grab some stocking stuffers for my kids… maybe some lego minifigures, watches, silly putty, and some funny socks.
Another toy I would like is the Flashlight Projector.
I would love to buy a science kit (with a microscope if they have one, the category was there but no items to click on), or a rock tumbler – I love that they carry rock tumblers!
