Hey, What’s the Big Idea!? Imagination Movers Back in Blue Tour #IMCanadaTour

Well, the big idea here is educational entertainment, and no one does edutainment quite like The Imagination Movers! This award winning foursome from New Orleans was here in Vancouver this past Sunday at The Vogue Theatre for their Back In Blue Tour and let me tell you – they sure put on a great show for the kids. Vancouver was stop 2 on this amazing 16 city tour across Canada!

True to their name, The Movers really move and after some stretching the audience was ready to move too, and shake to “Shakable You”. Whether we were shaking, clapping, or doing the fridge dance for “What’s in the Fridge”, we danced the whole show through. The Imagination Movers engaged with the audience every chance they had, coming down to the floor to high five, dance and party with the kids who were brave enough to get up and chase them around the theatre.

Movers Dave, Scott, Rich and Smitty really engaged with the audience through various call backs (when I say PIZZA, you say SLICE!) and “Playing Catch” with ginormous coloured balloons. We saw science in action with “Vortex”, learned problem solving skills with “Brainstorming” and sang about “Cheese” with none other than Warehouse Mouse, he sure is a tricky one to find!

When the show was over, after being tp’d and confetti’d, we had the delight of meeting The Imagination Movers at the meet and greet. In person, they are so warm and funny, and really have a way with kids. They spent a few minutes with each kid, exchanging names and making sure they got a great pic or two, some lucky littles even got autographs, they were super sweet with the shy ones and went out of their way to try to engage and warm them up. Didn’t work with Alivia, but I appreciated the effort! They even call the kids little peanut butter and jellies, which caused some serious giggles from all of them.

It’s hard to say who had more fun; the adults or the kids, but it’s easy to see why they have not only a huge following, but their own hit show on Disney Junior! We totally recommend upgrading to the VIP meet and greet, there is nothing better than the kids coming face to face with these guys, the memories are priceless! And yes… contrary to the photos, Alivia had a blast, she’s just a big chicken with new people. 😉

What? What? I can’t hear you!
