I have two little girls who love to dress up. They especially love playing at Frozen. They call each other Anna and Elsa, and they act out scenes from the movie. It’s pretty awesome watching them sing “Do You Want to Build a Snowman” together! They know all the words by heart and they do a surprisingly good job!
Of course, part of being a princess is accessorizing…
Emily, the creative mama behind Alberta-based Cold Lipstick’s Garden and a Made in Canada Baby sponsor, created these custom Frozen themed statement necklaces for my girls. Icy Anna colours for Tee, and bright and funky Elsa colours for Kay! She also sent us matching Frozen hair clips on ribbon-lined alligator clips to go along with these pretty necklaces.
The girls love their necklaces so much! They want to wear them all the time. As in, into the tub and in bed too. Tee is especially enamoured with the unique snowflake beads on her necklace, and we all love the cute Frozen-inspired rhinestone princess pendants.
Unfortunately, one of the rhinestones fell out of Elsa’s dress the first day we had it. I emailed Emily about it and was happy to learn she stands firmly behind everything she sells. Customers can ship any of her pieces back for free repairs, and she’ll even cover the postage if something happens within the first seven days after you receive it.
Emily is a definitely a mama after my own heart. She makes custom accessories to suit any child’s taste, not just the pink princess stuff. Geek chic items are her first love, so if you’re looking for Star Wars, Minecraft, Dr. Who, Mario, Marvel, or Walking Dead, look no further! As many of you know, my kids are also Star Wars geeks at heart so I just couldn’t pass up these felt Star Wars clippies. Can you name these Star Wars characters from left to right? (If you’ve been living under a rock for the past 35 years, the answers are down at the bottom of the post.)
Like the Frozen clips, each Star Wars character is glued onto a ribbon-lined alligator clip along with a little strip of no-slip silicon to keep the clips firmly in place. Kay’s hair in particular is quite fine and very soft, but we’ve never had any issues with the hair clips coming out. These cute clippies work like a charm to keep her hair out of her face while it’s growing out.
