Carry Your Stuff in Style #BackToBackpacks

How did this happen? It’s like I blinked and all of a sudden the summer’s over. September’s here, and that means back to school, back to work, or if you’re really lucky, a trip! For us, it’s all three. The girls are headed back to school next week, I’ll be taking on some work shifts since the kids will be gone during the day, and we’re planning a road trip to Vancouver Island in a few weeks. It’s going to be a busy month!

Whatever you’re looking forward to this fall, you’re going to need a quality backpack to carry and organize all your stuff. I’ve had lots of backpacks through the years, so I know what I want in a new bag. Padded adjustable straps and a padded back are essential for comfortable wearing, and I need all the pockets to keep things organized.

This is the Romantica backpack from WillLand Outdoors. I like that it’s not too big and not too small. This sleek and simple bag has a 25L capacity and can comfortably hold a stack of books, my lunch, and an umbrella in the main compartment, along with my iPad in the built-in padded sleeve. The sleeve fits a tablet, Chromebook, or Macbook and closes with a Velcro strap. Nowadays we don’t go anywhere without our devices, so the extra protection from scratches and impacts is a terrific idea!

The large front compartment is padded as well and fastens with two contrasting magnetic leather straps for easy access to lots of little pockets, space for a couple of pens, and an interior zipper pouch. This is where I stash my lipstick, phone, keys, and anything else I need to keep close at hand.

See that little leather patch on the front? That’s called a lash tab (or a pig snout), and that little doohickey let’s you hang extra gear on the outside if you run out of room. It’s a great spot to hang your water bottle or wet umbrella so your stuff inside doesn’t get wet.

I picked the black (Dark Night) backpack because I figured it would go with everything, but if you’re more adventurous than me, there are 11 other colours and colour combos to choose from.

Where are you headed this fall? Visit WillLand Outdoors to find a #BacktoBackpacks look that’s right for you.
