What is MommyCon?
MommyCon is a nationwide convention series dedicated to creating and nurturing a community of parents and parents-to-be in celebration of natural parenting.
MommyCon takes a gentle and positive approach to educating parents about the emotional and physical benefits of natural birthing, breastfeeding and babywearing. We advocate values of holistic health, eco-friendly diapering, child safety standards and procedures, and female self-care and wellness. Our mission is to create a community of support, acceptance and non-judgement for parents journeying through parenthood.
MommyCon also organizes Wear: A Babywearing Conference, held this year on March 3-5, 2017, in Chicago. Wear is focused on promoting safe, comfortable, and accessible babywearing education. The conference seeks to educate and preserve indigenous babywearing practices while showcasing the latest in babywearing fashion, design, and innovation.
What Can You Expect at MommyCon?
MommyCon is a full day of educational panels and workshops plus a product showcase hall of more than 50 exhibitors. Learn about birth, cloth diapering, babywearing, infant nutrition, car seat safety, natural health and wellness, baby gear, and natural parenting. You’ll also find:
- Babywearing Lounge featuring hundreds of baby carriers and Volunteer Babywearing Educators to help you try and test out a huge selection of types and brands of baby carriers
- Cloth Diaper Resource Center with fitteds to prefolds to wool to all-in-ones and everything in between
- Baby Gear Area with a try-no-need-to-buy philosophy
- Baby Food Court with talks on nutrition and eating challenges
- Feeding Lounge and Baby Care Area
- Baby Safe Play Spaces throughout the event
