Every Easter, Halloween, Christmas, and random special occasion, I fight the good fight against stuffing my kids full of sugar and candy. I let them indulge a little bit – I’m not a monster! – but I’m always on the lookout for something different and better than the chocolate eggs and candies and lollipops that seem to multiply in my cupboard.
So I already knew I wouldn’t be including the great big chocolate bunny and all those candy eggs in this year’s Easter baskets. Last weekend I stopped by the dollar store and picked up a couple of cute baskets and some fun treats without the sweet for my girls. Their baskets will have a colouring book, sidewalk chalk, some small toys, Easter socks, a toothbrush, and the best idea I’ve heard in a while: kids honibe honey gummies™ complete in place of candy! These one a day multivitamins for kids four and up are sweetened with 100% Canadian Grade No. 1 honey so they contain 50% less refined sugar than other gummy vitamins. She’ll think they’re treats; I’ll know they’re good for her!
When Tee was a toddler, we used to brag about how she’d eat anything we put in front of her. Ahem. Well, that ship has sailed. The older she gets, the pickier she becomes. Lately she’s been refusing a lot of veggies which makes me worry that she might be missing some key vitamins or minerals in her diet.
I’ve been wanting to start a daily multivitamin for Tee, but of course she has to actually eat it to get the benefits. These kids honibe honey gummies™ complete vitamins come in natural berry, fruit punch, and orange flavours, so I’m pretty sure she’ll have no trouble taking her vitamins. It’s never too early to establish healthy routines!
I’m also including some honibe® honey delights® as a special treat. These are really neat – they’re the world’s first candy made from 100% pure dried honey with no artificial flavour added. I snuck a couple while I was making up the Easter baskets and they’re really good (and only 10 calories apiece)!
Compared to the empty calories in refined sugar, honey contains 22 amino acids, antioxidants, and a variety of minerals. Honey also has a lower glycemic index than glucose or sucrose which means it releases glucose more slowly and steadily than refined sugar with a corresponding slower rise in blood sugar levels. As someone who’s had gestational diabetes twice, this is important to me. I’m going to try adult honibe honey gummies™ complete too!
Connect with honibe® on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or Instagram. Shop online or check the store locator for retailers near you. (The Pharmasave near me carries these. Yay!)

I don’t use twitter….have fun everyone!
I really like the honibe honey delights! I had to get my husband to hide them because I was eating too much.
Lol, I stashed them away too! Or there wouldn’t have been any left for the girls’ baskets.
I did some more reading on Honibe! I want to get a hold of some of their products/treats for my girls basket!
Well.ca has a couple on sale at the moment…..love that!
I was going to get the honey delights at well.ca until I saw them for sale locally too.
My children love anything with honey in it and we’ve been fortunate to have lots of raw sources close by. I love the idea of putting the goodness of honey into a supplement for children!
Lucky! It’s hard to get local, raw honey near us. I definitely prefer honey as a sweetener over refined sugar or HFCS.
