Whole30 Meal Plan: Week Two

Whole30 Week Two

Surprisingly, I’m finding this Whole30 not quite as difficult as the last go around. Sure, I would have given my third born child for a can of soda on Friday, but I walked away and distracted myself with the kids until the craving passed. (You never really know what a hold certain foods have on you until you make the conscious decision to stop eating them!) But overall it’s been going smoother than the last time.

I learned some things from our last Whole30 that allowed me to plan a little better. Last time I felt really overwhelmed at times with what seemed like never ending food prep, cooking, and clean up. Facing a mound of dirty dishes that needed to be cleaned before I could even start with the food prep felt disheartening and sapped my motivation. But this time, hubs has committed to washing all the dishes every night so I can start the next day with a clean sink and kitchen. Much better!

The other thing we’ve been doing is meal planning together. It’s a lot easier to decide what the family will be eating when I have some input from the people doing the eating! This week I’m trying a couple of new recipes. Hubs spotted a really easy way to prepare beef tenderloin over at Primal Palate and wanted to try it, so I slotted that in for the middle of the week when I just don’t have the energy for anything long or complicated. And I’ve decided to try my hand at some cabbage rolls. I have a lot of frozen ground beef to experiment with. If it’s a success, you’ll probably see that recipe on the blog next week. If you don’t see it, just forget I even mentioned it, okay?

How are you doing with your New Year’s resolutions?
