Take a Break at RBC’s Avion Holiday Boutique #AvionVIP

Who enjoys holiday shopping at the mall? Not I! when I think of going to the mall in December I think of the crowds, the stress, dragging around my coat and bags and packages, not to mention cranky kids (mine and everyone else’s!). As much as I’d like to though, I can’t avoid it entirely. But there are a few things that make it bearable. Things like finding the perfect gift for everyone on my list, stopping by the Orange Julius kiosk for a half orange half strawberry Julius, or picking the fast line at the toy store.

Or, if you’re an RBC Avion cardholder, by taking a well-earned break at an RBC Avion Holiday Boutique. Cardholders can visit one of these exclusive boutiques at select malls across Canada and receive complimentary services that help make holiday shopping just a little more enjoyable, like a coat and parcel check, VIP lounge and café, concierge services, and gift wrapping. It’s RBC’s way of thanking Avioners for their loyalty throughout the year!

This weekend we had to do some shopping, and we chose to go to Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby to check out the Avion Holiday Boutique while we were there. It’s located on the Upper Level near the Great Court, across from the Apple Store. The beautifully decorated lounge was a badly needed break from the busy crowds just outside the door.

I loved being able to check our coats while we were shopping. We were able to pop back in whenever we liked to drop off our bags and packages and even have them gift wrapped too!

You and I both know dragging the kids through the mall is one the fastest ways to ruin a shopping trip, especially if it’s been a while since lunch. Kids get cranky when they get hungry. Happily, the cafe has complimentary snacks and bevvies to refuel you and the kids. Tee got a cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream and a gingerbread cookie. Yum!

While you kick back with a cup of tea and check your email using the complimentary wifi, the kids can get some holiday reading done too.

  • Hey, we were at Metropolis this weekend too! We just went to Chapters, though, and didn’t venture any further into the mall. I was glad there was a Starbucks there… I got a venti eggnog latte and told my husband that’s the only reason I stayed in the store while he shopped. If I’d known about the RBC Avion Boutique, I would have headed there while he shopped!!! 🙂 He’s the shopper in our family. I can’t stand crowds. 🙂 Thanks for sharing this! It’s good to know about. 🙂

  • Since Halifax is closer to my part of the world, I am happy to hear that shoppers who are RBC Avion Card holders may enjoy some of the perks of the Avion Boutiques when shopping. Just another reason to be an Avion Card Holder.

  • Sounds great! I used to love shopping at the mall but not so much anymore! I often leave before I’m finished shopping these days because I’m just to overwhelmed by it all to continue!
