Öko Creations for Baby: Cute and Quality!

I’m blessed to have many people in my life who brought up babies in generations past, and it’s always fun to discuss how products have changed over the years. These conversations are usually sparked when they see Brooks’ diapers, and they tell me all about cotton flats, sharp diaper pins, and plain plastic covers. The comments on all our newfangled baby gear are always of the same variety: “You have so many cute options to choose from nowadays,” “Wow, those things are fancier than anything I had to put on my babies at the time,” “You’re lucky to have so many natural options. We just didn’t have that back then.”

And I definitely don’t take it for granted. It’s awesome to see so many companies taking a serious stand for the environment, responsible sourcing, and the holistic health of babies and families all while maintaining high standards of quality and appearance. These are values I personally hold dear, so I was very interested to try a few items from Öko Creations’ line of baby products.

PRODUCT LINEUP

Organic Cotton Baby Wipes ($11.49/per pack of 4)

I’m a recent convert to the world of cloth wipes, and these are the first real ones I’ve tried. There’s definitely a noticeable difference between these and the baby washcloths that make up the bulk of my wipe collection. They’re super soft and thick, and I can imagine they feel pretty good on the bum. The colored stitching has held things in place nicely after multiple washes, plus it’s cute!

Bibdana ($18.99)

These double-sided, multipurpose bibs come in several cute prints. We have their Ukulele print, but Brooks calls them guitars…or “di-tars,” rather.

BIBDANA PRINTS

Most of the moms I’ve seen who use these stylish bibs do so for a cute drool solution. Though Brooks has never been a big drooler, I’ve always loved the look of babies rocking them as a fashion accessory. They’re such a great combo of style and function.

The Öko Creations Bibdana has two snaps at the neck to adjust to your baby’s size, and they’re pretty small, so they make a good diaper bag bib for when you’re on the go.

We’ve gotten a lot of use out of it during meal times, especially now that Brooks has figured out how to rip the velcro ones off. Lately he’s been enjoying a little plate of snacks down at his level to graze on while he plays, and I like the size of the Bibdana for this. It doesn’t get in the way of his playing, and he hardly seems to notice it.

Hemp Insert ($9.00)

For the most part we’ve been using this insert during the daytime by tri-folding and laying inside a cover just like a prefold. That has been working great for us so far. It’s super trim, and the size is just right to lay flat inside.

HEMP INSERT IN COVER

But hemp is said to be able to absorb several times its own weight in moisture, so I wanted to really put this insert to the test. One night we used it to stuff a pocket diaper…solo.

Guess what? No leaks! Yep, that sucker was heavy after 12+ hours, but I was so impressed it held up to a full night of use.
