Norwex Household Package Review #HolidayGiftGuide

2013 Holiday Gift Guide

I was first introduced to Norwex about two years ago. As an environmentally conscious family with two small children, we prefer to minimize our use of chemicals, and I love that Norwex cloths clean with just water. Yep, that’s right – just water! With my toddler climbing all over everything and putting her fingers in her mouth, I feel so much more comfortable when I don’t use toxic cleaning supplies.

I love these cloths so much I asked my local Norwex consultant to help me share that love with you. The Norwex Household Package I received for review comes with the classic Enviro cloth, window cloth, and a dusting mitt. Norwex microfiber cloths are used wet to clean or dry for dusting.

The Norwex Dusting Mitt

I’ve never hidden the fact that I hate dusting. Part of my distaste for this chore is because I have dust allergies, and part of it is because it just seems like so much work for not a lot of return. The dust is back in a few days anyway!

What this means is I had lots of dusty surfaces to try out the electrostatic properties of the dusting mitt. The thick, terrycloth-like fabric attracts and holds in dust and allergens, and the mitt shape makes it so much easier to get those hard-to-dust surfaces like my extremely dusty blinds!  As you can see, there was a lot of dust, but the dusting mitt picked it all up.

Norwex Microfiber Cloths

I’ve been using these microfiber cloths to clean my bathrooms. The purple window cloth does a great job cleaning all the toothpaste and water drops off the mirror with just water. No chemicals, no fumes, and no streaks! I use the green Enviro cloth on everything else. It does a fantastic job cleaning my sink, counters, chrome fixtures, and the toilet. Pictures can’t show it, but surfaces just feel clean. There’s no sticky or slippery residue and no grittiness.

I know it might seem too good to be true – clean with water? But I can assure you, I’ve been using Norwex cloths for the last two years and they really do get your surfaces clean! Okay, so how does it work? From the website:

“At only 1/200th the size of a strand of human hair, Norwex Microfiber is one of the most innovative products in the cleaning industry today. When combined with the unique Norwex knitting process, Norwex Microfiber becomes a highly effective cleaning agent and can hold up to seven times its weight in matter. Unlike cotton cloths that will simply spread the dirt, grease and other particles around, Norwex Antibac Microfiber lifts these particles up into the cloth and away from the surface. Once inside the cloth, the Norwex MicroSilver in the cloth goes to work with self-purification properties against mold, fungi and bacterial odor within 24 hours, so that it is ready to use again.”

Cleaning your cloths is easy too. Just wash them with other lint-free laundry and hang to dry. (Don’t use bleach or fabric softener on your microfiber cloths.) I was impressed to find out that Norwex offers a 2-year microfiber warranty that covers any problem you might encounter outside of normal wear and tear.  If you are not pleased with how a microfiber product has worn or performed, you can contact your consultant to have the item replaced at no additional charge.

I wholeheartedly recommend these cloths for every family that wants to reduce chemicals in their home!
