North Pole BC is a Memorable Christmas Adventure

Last weekend we went on an adventure to the North Pole! We hung out with elves and made wrapping paper in the Gift Wrap Room, decorated gingerbread cookies at the Gingerbread Bakery, made a stuffed animal in the Toy Workshop, had story time with Mrs. Claus, and visited the Toy Inventor. We even had a personal visit with the big guy himself!

North Pole BC is a memorable Christmas adventure full of traditional charm and magic. We enjoyed the numerous interactive scenes and activities, all the sparkling lights and decorations, and plenty of photo ops. All the North Pole elves were helpful and friendly, and they really went out of their way to make every child feel special.

North Pole BC review - a memorable #Christmas adventure!

We started with a train ride, then we stopped at the Gift Wrap Room where Tee and Kay both made their own wrapping paper using stamps and crayons. Tee’s pretty excited to use hers to wrap her Christmas present for Kay! Next we visited the Gingerbread Bakery where Tee decorated gingerbread man cookies with icing and candy-coated chocolates. I’m not usually a fan of gingerbread, but even I have to admit these were really tasty. The girls couldn’t wait to eat theirs all up!

At the Toy Inventor’s, Tee got to check out Santa’s sleigh bells and touch a magic Christmas cheer ball (sometimes known as a plasma ball). We spent quite a bit of time in the Toy Workshop. Kay gazed in awe at all the traditional toys and tried to make off with a miniature rocking horse. Tee helped stuff a giant teddy bear, and then she got to make a small one to take home. She wants to give it to Kay for Christmas.

North Pole BC review - a memorable #Christmas adventure!

When we first arrived at North Pole BC, I filled out a form with my girls’ names, ages, and interests. This info was whisked away to Santa by behind the scene elves. When they saw Santa, both the girls were scared at first, but Santa had reviewed their info beforehand and chatted with Tee about Dora the Explorer and her preschool until she was happy to sit on his lap for a picture. She was pretty thrilled that Santa already knew her name. I honestly didn’t think he’d convince her to cooperate, but he was the best Santa I’d ever seen. He had such a nice way with kids. Look! She’s actually smiling!

In past years we’ve gone to the regular mall Santa, and it’s usually a long, long, long wait (up to an hour!) and no time for the kids to actually visit or get comfortable with Santa. You’ve got two minutes to get in, deposit your crying offspring on Santa’s lap, snap a picture, and then get out for the next kid. At North Pole BC, we got to spend almost 10 minutes with Santa in his private sitting room. The photo elf made sure she got a good picture of Tee, and both my girls got wrapped presents from Santa. Tee received a hand puppet, and Kay got a wooden puzzle – real presents, not dollar store junk! (And Santa has a real beard too!) Unfortunately, Kay would have no part of it. Next year, I hope!

Regular North Pole BC entrance tickets only include access to visit North Pole BC. There is a free mall Santa available just outside North Pole BC on a first come first served basis, but if you want a personalized visit with Santa like we had, splurge on the VIP tickets. VIP tickets let you avoid the line-up and give you a scheduled time to visit with Santa in North Pole BC plus a gift for each child.

North Pole BC is a wonderful annual tradition – we’ll be there next year for sure!

  • I live in Ontario and here we have a Santa’s Village that I’d take my boys to when they were younger. I’m sure it doesn’t even come close to comparing with The North Pole BC!

  • Nicole is still feeling a bit bitter that Santa got ruined for her. Seems a while back, despite knowing that Nicole believed in Santa, this was temporarily forgotten and the non-existence of Santa was openly discussed in front of her. She was VERY unhappy to be given information that way. Can’t say as I blame her.

To answer the actual question you posited though, when she had asked me if Santa was real, I had a no lying policy, so I would simply say, “What do YOU think?” Which was, “Santa is REAL!” And then we would have a chat about how the most important thing is the giving spirit of Santa and Christmas. I intend to do the same with this one too :-). And Nicole is determined he will NOT receive any rude awakenings as she did.

  • Same old story… he’s a magical elf, he travels the world and gives toys to good boys and girls on Christmas Eve. My mother grew up being told that it was a fiction, and she always felt really ripped off that her parents didn’t let her believe, so we decided to keep the myth alive for our kids. I believed as a child, and it didn’t leave me with any long lasting trust issues 🙂

  • Thank you so much for a chance to win! I would love to take my sons & niece to see the North Pole, would be such a magical experience 🙂
