Monty Python’s Spamalot Now Playing in Vancouver

Calling all Monty Python fans! Unless your mother was a hamster and your father smelt like elderberries, you need to get down to the Stanley Stage for Monty Python’s Spamalot presented by the Arts Club Theatre Company. I have been waiting for this since the first time I watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail on VHS, and I’m thrilled that I have the chance to check out Spamalot next week.

Written by Monty Python alum Eric Idle with music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle, the original 2005 production of Spamalot received 14 Tony Award nominations and won three, including Best Musical of the 2004-2005 season.

“Whether or not you’ve seen the movie that inspired it, Spamalot will make you laughalot. Favourites old and new—the Knights Who Say “Ni!” and the Laker Girls among them—appear in this highly irreverent and ironic musical that parodies not only the legend of King Arthur but also well-tread Broadway theatrical conventions. With songs like “The Song That Goes Like This,” “Twice in Every Show,” and “Find Your Grail,” the show will have you looking on the bright side of life.”

Monty Python’s Spamalot is now playing on the Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage through June 29, 2014. Performances run Tuesday through Sunday evenings with matinees on Wednesdays and weekends. Tickets start at just $29, and they’re going fast. Buy your tickets online now!

  • well I think this calls for some Monty Python tonight. DVD it will have to be since I’m not in Vancouver and won’t be anytime soon… I’ve also been banned from joining in on my sons bonfire tonight, guess I’m not cool enough, so it’s a perfect night for a movie lol.
