The other day I made the mistake of taking a shower. It was a beautiful sunny day, so Kay decided she could be helpful by putting on sunscreen while I was washing my hair. She applied it generously (Just like I taught her!) to her face and her arms. Hmmm, I guess it could be worse.
But wait. What if the piano gets sunburned? When you’re four years old, this is a valid concern. So my very sun-conscious little person slathered sunscreen on the piano too. All over the keys, and in between too.
Oh, boy. Between cleaning the piano and seasoning a chicken for dinner, I lost track of the time and was late picking up her older sister from school. Quick! Throw the bird in the oven and run out the door. Strap Kay into her car seat. Oops, somehow I missed that glop of sunscreen in her hair. Get down to the school, get Tee in the car. Stop for gas. Get home and throw the veggies in the oven. Help Tee find her karate gi (Why on earth did she stuff it behind the couch?), drive them to karate, then race home to get dinner on the table at a reasonable hour. Oh, and now it’s time for bed!
At least I know at bedtime we’ll have a chance to breathe for a minute, read a story together, and snuggle before bed. It may seem like a small part of our day, but it’s actually one of the highlights. I can forget all about the chaos of the day and just enjoy my children’s company. It’s simple like that.
When I have so little time for myself, it’s simple little things like a bedtime snuggle that help keep me sane. Little things like green lights all the way to school pickup, or my new Schick Intuition razor.
This unique razor has a skin moisturizing solid surrounding the blades that lathers into its own shaving cream. All I have to do is add water, shave, rinse, and go. No need for shaving cream or gel, and no need for moisturizer after either!
The moisturizing solid contains aloe and vitamin E to soothe and hydrate at the same time as it provides a close shave with its 4-blade pivoting head. My legs are soft, smooth, and nick-free in no time. I love how this simplifies my routine, and less time in the shower means less time that my 4-year-old is unsupervised with the sunscreen!
I recently offered some of my readers the opportunity to try a Schick Intuition razor for themselves and report back their honest thoughts in exchange for an entry into my giveaway for a $100 prepaid gift card. Take a look in the comments to see what they have to say!
Congratulations to Julie F, the winner of the $100 gift card!
