LNBF stands for Leave Nothing but Footprints – their motto taken from the age-old saying “Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but memories.” Their vision is to inspire people to live a sustainable lifestyle by choosing apparel that is both fashionable and environmentally-friendly. This homegrown eco-fashion label is based out of Toronto, Ontario, and they use viscose from bamboo, organic cotton, and Tencel to create soft, eco-friendly clothing made to flatter every body type. LNBF recently sent me some of their pieces to try for myself.
This Bailey top ($59.99) was my favourite of the bunch. Made from organic cotton and spandex, it comes in this gorgeous blue melange colour as well as neutral grey. This top is very stretchy and so comfortable, without being clingy at all. It looks great paired with jeans for running errands and/or chasing after the kids. I feel casual but still put together.
I also tried this Galaxy top ($59.99) in black. It has dolman sleeves, tapered cuffs, and a layered look chiffon hem to keep it airy and light. It drapes beautifully and covers what I need it to cover without clinging or being too hot. It does occasionally peekaboo a little through the slits up the sides.
The oversized jade Layla top ($59.99) didn’t work for me as well as the other tops did. It’s designed to be oversized, but I found it a little too oversized for me. I ended up feeling a bit overwhelmed in all the fabric. I suspect it might work better on a taller frame though (I’m 5’3″). The light jade colour and chiffon panels down the side give it a nice breezy summer feel, so I’m planning to use this as a coverup at the beach or pool this summer.
I also received these soft, silky smooth, and oh so comfortable Suri leggings ($49.99). I can see why they’re LNBF’s bestseller! I chose the black leggings to go with everything, but they come in seven neutral colours and capri length leggings for summer too. I could definitely use a couple more pairs of these! I was surprised by just how lightweight the viscose from bamboo and spandex felt, while still remaining opaque (don’t worry – nothing shows through). These will be nice and cool for summer, and I bet they’ll work well with a dress or even under jeans this autumn/winter as well.
I liked how each item mixes and matches with the items I already have in my closet. I’m no fashion plate, but it wasn’t hard at all to work the leggings, Bailey top, and Galaxy top into my everyday wardrobe.
