Nutrience Subzero grain-free kibble + freeze-fried raw

A couple of weeks ago I told you about Nutrience Subzero™, a new grain-free pet food made with protein-rich kibble and freeze-dried raw meat. Subzero is made locally in British Columbia with fresh, high quality Canadian sourced raw meat, poultry, and Pacific wild-caught fish, then infused with four key Nutriboost™ ingredients for optimal health:

  • Green-Lipped Mussels – A natural anti-inflammatory to support joint health
  • Pacific Cod Liver – A rich source of omega-3 fatty acids for a healthy skin & coat
  • Pumpkin – A good source of dietary fiber to support digestion
  • Acadian Kelp – A variety of seaweed loaded with natural antioxidants to support a healthy immune system

I love the idea of giving Kallie the health and wellness benefits of raw food without the mess of having to prepare it myself, so we took a trip down to our local PetSmart® store to pick up a bag of Nutrience Subzero for her. Despite some distractions along the way, like the large window to the grooming studio at the front of the store and an adorable five-month-old poodle puppy roaming the aisles, we eventually found our way to the huge Nutrience Subzero display in the dog food section. It was easy to find and had all three flavours to pick from: Canadian Pacific, Fraser Valley, and Prairie Red.

The girls picked out a bag of Fraser Valley formula with fresh deboned chicken, turkey, wild-caught Pacific salmon, herring, and cod. They were really excited about being entrusted with such an important decision, and they put a lot of thought into which flavour Kallie might like the most.

Here’s a close-up of the kibble and freeze-dried protein bits in Subzero. (There’s more kibble than freeze-dried, but I wanted you to see what the pieces looked like.)

Of course, I had to get the most important opinion of all. She can’t tell me what she thought, but all signs point to Kallie enjoying her new food! (Is it just me or does she look a tiny bit exasperated with me snapping pics while she’s trying to enjoy her meal in peace?)

You don’t have to just take my word for it. Check out what Sadie and her puppy mill rescue dogs Henry and Reese thought!
