Introducing Hasbro’s New Disney Princess Tiana #DreamBigPrincess

The Princess and the Frog is one of my favourite Disney movies. Of course it has barely anything in common with the original fairy tale, but I love its contemporary setting in early 20th century New Orleans. Despite the personal and societal barriers in her way, Tiana works hard to make her dreams real. I especially love her work ethic, ambition, intelligence, and drive – characteristics to inspire my girls!

Meet Hasbro’s new Disney Princess Royal Shimmer Tiana Doll!

Of all the new Disney Princess dolls we’ve seen so far, I think this face mould bears the closest resemblance to its movie counterpart. Tiana comes with a pretty updo, tiara, glittery green dress inspired by her lily pad dress in the movie, and green shoes.

At first I was a little disappointed that her opera gloves don’t come off (they’re molded and painted on), but then I thought about how much angst it would cause in my home if my kids were able to take them off, because for sure they wouldn’t be able to put the tiny, teeny gloves back on. Good call on the gloves!

Kay has claimed this doll for her very special own. Look, Tiana’s already made friends with Rapunzel! They’ve come to pay a visit to Queen Elsa.

Disney Princess Tiana

We also received this Disney Princess Little Kingdom Fashion Change Tiana. Like other Little Kingdom dolls and sets, the doll is about 3″ tall. This set comes with two complete outfits – her green lily pad gown and a blue dress – plus three snap-ins. Each outfit is made up of three pieces (bodice, peplum, and skirt) and can be mixed and matched on Tiana as well as with other Little Kingdom dolls. Plus there’s a frog hat!

Little Kingdom Tiana

My girls love playing with their Little Kingdom dolls, but as I’ve mentioned in previous reviews, those snap-ins are really tiny and likely to get lost. On this Tiana doll, the bodice pieces seem especially small as well, so don’t be surprised if they end up between the couch cushions or in the vacuum cleaner.

Tiana has big dreams and ambitions. What does your child dream of being when s/he grows up?

  • Right now my granddaughter has no idea of what she wants to be, well she wants to be a dog..lol

  • Most recently he’s wanted to be a teacher – a JK teacher. He just finished JK so I’m guessing that’s related.

  • I am not sure what my daughter wants to be when she grows up. She is autistic and does not talk much and cannot relate those words back to me. hopefully in time I will know πŸ™‚

  • My daughter (3) says she wants to go to the moon when she grows up, and my youngest son (7) says he wants to be a Doctor so he can help fix his older brother who has suffered from learning disabilities, and social anxiety. Just typing this makes me want to go hug my kids.. Children have such wonderful little minds!

  • My 2 oldest granddaughters want to be a pediatrician and a veterinarian and the rest have not expressed an interest in anything since they are younger.

  • My granddaughter wants to be a mom when she grow up! MY daughter run a day home and she loves being at home with mom.

  • My grandson wants to be a firefighter just like his grandad. He has a firefighter costume and i think he puts it on almost everyday . Big Dreams Buddy good luck .

  • My niece seems to change her mind every time you see her, last I heard she was saying she wanted to look after babies.

  • I have to say she’s a little young to know what she wants at age 4 but she does fluctuate between a nurse and a teacher seeing as this was her first year of school.

  • My daughter wants to be an artist and have a free museum where people present their art. My son wants to be a train driver.

    Thanks for hosting.

  • My daughter is only 10 weeks old, but if she was anything like me she would want to be a teacher!

  • my daughter wants to be a welder, my step grandson said he wants to be a Ninja Turtle or a fireman!

  • I just asked my 4 year old Daughter what she wants to be when she grows up and she replied “Ariel with a dress on” lol

  • well my oldest is 27 and he did tell me that when he grows up he will fix and build computers, which is what he does now. my youngest is 10 and hasn’t really told me what he wants to be when he grows up just yet

  • My daughters are still too young to understand the concept of “when I grow up”. Judging by their talents, my oldest will likely fall into something artistic/creative, but I hope for her to want to follow in my footsteps and become an engineer or a scientist, or even a doctor. My youngest, I think, is very well suited to something that requires a high level of manual dexterity, but I call her Dr Tanis and that seems to please her. Ultimately, they will choose their own careers, but I will do my best to show them that there are many non-traditional career options available for women πŸ™‚

  • My two sons wanted to farm, like their father. They did for a time. Now one is a Federal Potato Inspector and the other one a Supervisor in Alberta.
Most of the small farms have ceased to exist and corporate farming seems to be the way to go on our Island. We do have some farmers that are working at farming organically.

  • My nephew wants to drive the skid steer when he grows up. He’s really really really really really into trucks and tractors and combine harvesters. Every walk we have to go check them. Lucky for me it’s just over there.
