How My Hoover Air Cordless Is Making Me a Better Housekeeper

Sometimes I feel like my floors are the bane of my daily existence. With a long-haired dog, two busy kids who forget to take their shoes off when they come in (and the husband too!), this wet and muddy winter weather, a three-year-old who doesn’t always feel like keeping her dinner on the table, countless Play-Doh sessions, and my own long hair, sometimes it seems like I need to vacuum twice a day just to keep on top of it.

When confronted with this day-to-day mess and the thought of pulling out my big clunky vacuum cleaner with the unwieldy hose and tangled cord, I have been known to either A. do a quick sweep up, or B. pretend I didn’t notice it.

But then this arrived. Meet my new cleaning buddy, the Hoover Air Cordless Series 3.0 Upright Vacuum!

How My Hoover Air Cordless Is Making Me a Better Housekeeper - Light and cordless makes me way more likely to vacuum!

I’d never used a battery-powered vacuum before and I’ll admit I was a teensy bit skeptical about whether it could do as good of a job as my old plug-in beast. But it does. And the brush roll really does get the dog hair off my bedroom floor and the dirt out of my front entrance mat.

I can honestly tell you I haven’t touched my old vacuum since this one arrived. The last few weeks have seen a dramatic change in my housekeeping! With no cord and weighing only ten pounds, the Hoover Air Cordless is so quick and convenient to pull out that since its arrival I’ve been vacuuming way more regularly, and my floors are looking good!

The Air Cordless uses Windtunnel® 3 technology to get the deep down dirt with 3 channels of suction. Most of my floors are vinyl or hardwood, but I do have carpet in my bedroom and some area rugs. Luckily, this vacuum goes from carpet to hard floor with one button push to turn the brush roll on and off.

The Air Cordless comes with a couple of attachments: a 2-in-1 dusting and crevice tool and an extended length crevice brush. The 2-in-1 tool picks up all the little drifts of dog hair that gather in the corners of my stairs and gets the crumbs out of my couch.

That extended crevice brush fits nicely under the fridge and stove, and it’s perfect for vacuuming those blinds I haven’t gotten around to in I don’t know how long. Look! It’s another example of me upping my housekeeping game!

The manual recommends washing the reusable filter every 4-6 uses, and the Air Cordless comes with two of them which means there’s always a clean, dry filter to use, even if I have to stop in the middle of the job to wash the filter I’m currently using. The light on the front makes it easy to see whatever needs to be picked up, though I wish there was a way to turn it off when I don’t need it to to save power.

With two batteries in the box, there's always a fully charged battery ready to go whenever I need it

I really like that it comes with two rechargeable batteries. That’s so smart and addresses the major concern I’ve had with other battery or rechargeable devices. What if you need to use it when the battery is discharged? With two in the box, there’s always a fully charged battery ready to go whenever I need it.

Each battery lasts about 50 minutes (or about 2500 square feet) so there’s plenty of juice to do my house from top to bottom and still have some left over for incidental cleanups during the week (that kitchen floor!). And if for some reason you needed to vacuum for an hour and a half, with two fully charged batteries you could.

The Air Cordless is one half of Hoover’s Clean Team Duo. Next week I’ll show you what I can do once all the hair is off my carpet. We’re going to Turbo Scrub!

The Hoover Air Cordless retails for $399.99 CAD, and it’s available at Canadian Tire, Best Buy, Home Depot, and Amazon.
