One thing I’m known for is my really long hair. Ever since Grade 9, it’s never been shorter than the middle of my back, and it’s usually more like waist length. I’ve had long hair for so long I can’t even imagine myself with short hair. If you consider that hair grows an average of 6 inches a year, my ends are at least four years old. Four years of washing, blow drying, and UV exposure, all of which leave my ends dry and brittle. Overall my hair is dry with lots of flyaways, and it’s definitely not as soft as it used to be.
I’m constantly trying new products looking for that magic treatment that will make my hair instantly soft, silky, and healthy. So I was really interested in trying out the new Fructis Damage Eraser line made with phyto-keratin complex and cupuaçu butter, the latest in hair care innovation from Garnier Fructis. Fructis Damage Eraser is specially formulated for dry, damaged, and distressed hair and claims to reconstruct hair strength root to tip by 90%. I don’t necessarily consider myself a “Damage Criminal” – I don’t use a flat iron or bleach my hair – but I do blow dry which I know is hard on my hair.
I was invited to try the Fructis Damage Eraser fortifying shampoo, fortifying conditioner, and strength reconstructing butter and let you know how they worked on my hair. So how did they do?
To start with, the products have a mild, clean smell. I like that the scent wasn’t too strong or perfumy. I noticed that the conditioner was much creamier than my usual conditioner and seemed to “stick” to my hair more. No more conditioner dripping off my hair and going down the drain. The strength reconstructing butter was wonderfully rich and thick just like, um… butter! As per the instructions, I left the reconstructing butter on my hair for about 5 minutes before rinsing it out. Even after only one use, I noticed the ends of my hair felt softer and smoother and less “crunchy”.
Here’s my hair before. Not bad, but the bottom is noticeably dull and dry-looking.
And here’s my hair after only three uses.
Honestly, I wasn’t actually expecting to be able to see a difference, so I was surprised when I saw the after picture. My ends look shinier and softer, and I can assure you my hair feels healthier too, especially at the ends. Even without any added product, my hair is softer, smoother, and easier to brush through. I can’t stop touching it to feel the difference!

Wow, you do have gorgeous hair! I can totally see that this product has helped you. I’ve always had “long” hair but never that long! 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
Your hair looks great, such a difference in the shine!
The conditioner is amazing. Really, it takes a lot to get through this mess of mine and it cut through the tangles and knots like nothing!
Your long hair looks gorgeous! Great to hear that the products work well. Softer hair is always a good thing!
I agree that the conditioner is thicker than usual! I really liked it because it did stay in my hair so well, I found my hair super easy to comb through!
We can really see a difference in your ends! Wow you hair is so beautiful! Lucky!
Oh my husband would love it if I grew my hair as long as your again! But for me, it just gets so hard to manage when it is that long
You can definitely see a difference in both your before and after pictures. I have to admit too, I didn’t think I would notice such a change in how my hair looked and felt after using this line either, but it definitely shows and I continue to be impressed by the Fructis line.
