Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22. People in more than 192 countries come together to raise awareness and demonstrate support for environmental issues. Here in Metro Vancouver, land of hippies and tree huggers, we’ve got lots of local events to celebrate this year!

Earth Day Shoreline Cleanup

Stanley Park Eco Stewards Volunteer Event
Stanley Park, Vancouver
12:30 – 3:00 pm
Learn firsthand about the threat invasive species pose to our native ecosystems, and help restore degraded habitats in the park by removing invasive plant species, planting native species, decommissioning unsanctioned trails, and adding other habitat enhancements.

Clean Up Langley Day

Businesses, community groups, families, and individuals come together to participate in this community-wide cleanup. Supplies will be provided.

Party for the Planet

2015’s Party for the Planet will feature 3 stages and roving performers throughout the event.

Earth Day Vancouver 2015 Celebration
Everett Crowley Park, Vancouver
11:00 am – 3:00 pm
Help plant 1000 trees and bring the kids for family-friendly entertainment.

Burnaby Earth Day Event

11:00 am – 4:00 pm
Learn about bees and honey, take a recycling depot tour, get your face painted, and enjoy an organic BBQ, contests, and prizes.

Sunday, April 26

Annual Earth Day Celebration, March and Festival
Commercial Drive, Vancouver
11:30 am – 4:00 pm
The Earth Day parade will start on the corner of Grandview Highway and Commercial Drive, and finish at Grandview Park. There will be speakers, musicians, and booths at the park.

12:00 – 4:00 pm
Help remove invasive plants and plant local species in the park. Enjoy a variety of community displays, a scavenger hunt, and prizes! Tools and light refreshments will be provided.
