Coton Vanille Evolutive Pants for Growing Babies and Toddlers

I’m in a really awkward postpartum phase right now where nothing seems to fit right. There are days when I put on 3 or 4 outfits just trying to find one that’s comfortable and flattering. It seems both kids are in a difficult “in between” phase right now too, because it often takes several tries before I find the right ensemble for them as well.

Pants are usually the culprit.

Unfortunately, the only option for me is wearing leggings day after day, but kids have a really cute and practical solution called maxaloones. They’re stretchy, grow-with-me pants that fit no matter what stage babies and toddlers are in.

Coton Vanille sent us two pairs of their maxaloones, called Evolutive Pants for their ability to evolve with your child as they grow. They offer newborn and regular sizes with the newborn size fitting 0 to 12 months.

They fit Riley perfectly from the day they arrived around her two-month-old mark. It seems like she’s growing out of outfits daily right now. Sometimes we’re lucky if she gets to wear an item once or twice before it goes in the “too small” basket. You know how it is. You shuffle through the pants drawer over and over again, hoping a new pair you somehow overlooked will materialize. On days like this, Coton Vanille’s Evolutive Pants are a lifesaver.

They also make really cute matching accessories. Riley has been wearing their mini Evolutive Pants and matching headband in the coral Spring Flower print.

The regular size fits 6 months to 3 years, and honestly, I’m really surprised at how well I like them on Brooks. I tend to think of form-fitting pants as being feminine, but this Bear print just looks down right trendy on him.

We were out in public for all of a few minutes before people began noticing them. They really fit in with the Northwest vibe here.

So how do they grow with your child? Easy! They have a long waist band and cuffs that fold over, and as your child gets taller, you simply unfold a bit more. The fabric has 4-way stretch, and the extra panel in the bottom gives a more generous fit over cloth diapers.

If you enjoy baby wearing like we do, the leg cuffs come in handy even before your child grows. It’s frustrating when you put your kid in their carrier and a perfectly long pair of pants suddenly becomes terribly short highwaters. You spend the entire walk yanking the pant legs down to try and keep those little legs warm.

With Coton Vanille’s Evolutive Pants, you can unfold the cuffs to cover up bare legs while baby wearing. No more highwaters.

I’ve really come to like these pants, not just for their convenience but for their style too. They look great over cloth diapers, and they make a fun statement piece in my kids’ outfits. Now to find myself something equally as flattering…
