Back to School with Skechers

For some reason, shoes are almost always the last thing I get on my back to school list. I know that the kids will be wearing them almost every day, and I want to be sure I get the right shoes for them. Don’t waste my time and money on shoes I’ll have to replace in a couple of months!

My kids are active little monkeys, and they need running shoes that will stand up to all the tree climbing, puddle jumping, scooter braking, dog walking, foot dragging, and general wear and tear they put their shoes through every day. That’s why SKECHERS shoes are one of my top choices for them.

Earlier this summer we received some SKECHERS running shoes, and the girls have already put them through their paces with plenty of wear left to get them through the school year too.

Kay’s been sporting this pair of Dream N Dash – Whimsy Girl running shoes (on the left), and Tee loves her Swirly Girl – Shimmer Time shoes.

I love that SKECHERS kids’ shoes are fun as well as functional. They come in pretty colours, glitter, shiny finishes, and light-up soles that my kids love, but they’re also really comfortable and lightweight. They come in lots of non lace up styles for my not-yet-shoelace-tying 5-year-old, and they feature Gel Infused Memory Foam insoles, shock-absorbing supportive midsoles, and non-marking non-slip soles so my kid’s school doesn’t get mad at me.

Of course, we have to keep up with these kids somehow, so hubby and I have also been wearing some SKECHERS kicks too. I’m not telling tales outside of school when I confess I’m not an athletic mom. Even though SKECHERS makes them, I’m not really looking for performance running shoes. What I need is something comfortable and supportive, and I’m not ashamed to admit it, I want my shoes to look pretty too. These black suede Moda – Nebulae are perfect for me.

These fun shoes have a cushioned insole, vulcanized rubber sole and toe bumper, plus a hidden 1″ wedge heel. They’re so comfortable to wear all day long, and how cool are those little metallic stars!

Hubby’s been wearing this pair of GOrun Forza 2 running shoes to the park with the kids and to work out in. They’re really lightweight (only 10.6 oz per shoe for size 9s) with a responsive 5GEN cushioned midsole, and a molded heel counter and integrated inner support strap for a stable and secure fit.

Hubby assures me they provide plenty of support and comfort no matter what he’s doing (or who he’s carrying on his shoulders).

SKECHERS shoes work for my entire family, and I’ve never been disappointed in ours. If you’re shopping online, my experience has been that they fit true to size. In fact, they’re one of the few shoe brands I feel comfortable buying online.
