2015 Blog Traffic Report: Top 10 Posts of the Year

As 2015 draws to a close and a new year begins, I think this is a good opportunity to take a look back at the blogging year that was. I’ll freely admit I’m a bit of a stats nerd, and I’m always intrigued by seeing which posts are most popular, how many people visited over the year, and where my traffic comes from. This post is likely to be of more interest to other bloggers, but for anyone who might be curious, here’s some of the highlights from This West Coast Mommy for 2015.

I’m amazed and awed that this year saw 254,000 visitors to this little blog. That’s more than a quarter of a million people! Holy cow, you guys! I’m so grateful to all my readers, new and old, who took the time to visit with me this year. I especially want to thank those of you who come back over and over, who’ve gotten to know me and my family, chat with me on Facebook, enter all those awesome giveaways, and are the core of the This West Coast Mommy community. You are the reason I’m here!

Traffic Sources

But just how are people finding This West Coast Mommy? Here are my top traffic sources for 2015. Like last year, Google is by far my top traffic source with almost twice as many sessions as my next most popular traffic source. Pinterest and Facebook have pretty similar numbers and come in at #2 and #3. These three are my main traffic sources, sending close to 50% of my traffic this year.

Next comes Twitter referrals, then visits from readers who get my emails. Change-diapers.com has a popular cloth diaper giveaway linky that I visit frequently and sends me tons of traffic when I have a cloth diaper or babywearing giveaway. Contestgirl is my favourite giveaway listing site, and Yummly is the largest food site in the world (visit my recipes page there!). Online Sweepstakes is another giveaway site I list my giveaways on, and rounding out the top 10 is Huffington Post.
